Maggie and Bianca discuss Lena (Lena mention)

RE-CAPS:

From The Official Site at ABC.com:
http://abc.go.com/daytime/allmychildren/episodes/2003-04/20030805.html

Maggie feels Bianca's pain when Bianca voices her belief that Lena would never see her in the same light if she knew the truth about the rape.

From About All My Children
http://allmychildren.about.com/cs/recaps/a/bl20030805r.htm

When David comes to her door, Erica says she’s sorry, but she can’t see him right now. David knows this isn’t the best time, but he’s leaving town tomorrow; before he does, he needs to ask her if she’s aware of what’s going on with Bianca lately? Surprised, Erica says she knows Bianca broke up with Lena, and that’s why she’s been fighting this deep depression. “Are you sure that’s the reason?” he asks. She asks why he’s asking her about Bianca, “What are you trying to say, David?” David believes there’s something more going on with her, and he’s pretty convinced that it involves Michael Cambias. “Michael Cambias?” Erica exclaims, “Oh my god!”

Maggie comes back with another plate of food, and Bianca teasingly calls her Myrtle. Maggie thinks it could be a lot worse than being like Myrtle—big red hair, and always being the smartest person in the room! She suggests they make a pact to grow up like Myrtle, but Bianca can’t even think about next week, let alone 50 years from now! Maggie says they’ll take baby steps, but Bianca wonders what’s the point of making any plans, when things never turn out the way you expect them to? She asks if she knew that Lena offered her a ring, and Maggie asks, “Like a proposal?” Bianca agrees, “Yeah, exactly like.” Maggie thinks she should consider telling her what happened, saying she needs her right now. Bianca insists she can’t; it’ll make her feel guilty about her connection to Michael Cambias. Maggie argues that Lena loves her, but Bianca thinks Lena is the last person she can tell about this, “Because, if she knew, she wouldn’t feel the same about me.” Maggie says that’s not true, and Bianca asks why she would say that, “I mean, I don’t feel the same about me.” Maggie insists nothing has changed, and she’ll always feel the same way about her. Bianca says if she hadn’t been there for her to tell her, she thinks she would have gone crazy. Maggie repeats that she loves her, and she can always count on her.

Maggie feels Bianca's pain when Bianca voices her belief that Lena would never see her in the same light if she knew the truth about the rape.

From Lianca Recaps
http://www.dykesvision.com/en/amc/august05lianca.html

Erica runs to her door. It's David. She tries to send him away, since he's got rotten timing, but he tells her he needs to ask her about Bianca before he leaves town. She holds the door open for him to come in. She exposits that she knows Bianca broke up with Lena, and that that's why she's in such a "deep depression," but David asks if she's sure that's it. She repeats what Bianca said about being out late with Maggie, and claims to have been distracted. She wants to know what David is trying to say. David thinks that "something more is going on with Bianca" and is "pretty convinced" it also has to do with Michael Cambias. "Michael Cambias . . . oh my God," says Erica.

Valley Inn dining room. Bianca is still sitting; Maggie comes in with more food—shrimp, this time, which Binks refuses (yeah. Shrimp that's been sitting out for several hours? Eeech. Recipe for explosive diarrhea right there. Good call, Binks.), but Maggie tells her "they're already paid for; you might as well." Binks accepts (doh!) and calls her "Myrtle." Hee! "Hey . . . it could be worse, being like Myrtle," Mags replies. "Big red hair, always being the smartest person in the room." Maggie wants to "make a pact. To grow up like Myrtle." Bianca says she "can't even think about next week, let alone 50 years from now." Maggie thinks "baby steps" are in order, but Binks wonders what the point is of making any plans, since things never turn out the way you expect. She fills Maggie in on Lena offering her a ring. "Like a proposal?" Maggie asks. "Yeah, exactly like," she answers. Maggie thinks she should think about talking to Lena; Binks "need[s] her right now." But Bianca doesn't think she can: "It'll make her feel guilty about her connection to Michael Cambias, and—" "No, no, no," Maggie says. "She loves you. And right now, you need everyone who loves you so much around you." Binks hesitates. Eden Riegel is playing this scene very calm; it's sad.

Now Bianca says what's really on her mind. "Maggie, Lena is the last person that I can tell about this." Why, Mags wants to know. "Because, if she knew—" Bianca pauses, looks down as if scared to say what she's thinking, then looks up again—"she wouldn't feel the same about me." "Of course that's not true," Maggie says firmly. But Binks doesn't think so. "Why do you say that? I mean, I don't feel the same about me." Boo, sad. And you know what? This is the first time in all of this we've heard why Bianca is avoiding Lena, but we've heard about a kajillion times why she won't talk to Erica about her rape and how she's obsessing over Erica's wedding being perfect. I'm really glad they're doing such a good job of examining, in-depth, what Bianca's thinking about her relationship with the woman she loves. You know, they're really dealing sensitively with the emotional fallout of rape. Stupid writers.

PARODY

This parody is by LizzieT.

Erica and Jack continued to talk about Greenlee.
Jack: Erica, either you tell me the truth or I walk out this door.
Erica: I lied.
Jack: That sounds like the truth.
Erica: I figured out that Greenlee was your daughter while you were still in the hosptial. I mean, come on, it didn't exactly take a rocket scientist to put the pieces together. But I didn't see any reason for you to know. We already have one of the Fusion girls as a daughter. What could we want with another one?
Jack: But this one was MY daughter. And it was the other interesting one. It's not like it was Mia or Simone. Now I have to go find my daughter.
Erica: But what about the wedding? I'm beginning to think I'll break Brooke's record for the most episodes spent in a wedding dress.
Jack: Frankly my dear, I don't give a d***.
Erica: Hmmph! Oh well, this was the closest we've gotten to getting married yet. Maybe next time we'll actually make it to the reception.

The gang gathered at Greenlee's.
Mia: Let's just go in and talk about our sexiest man contest. The first finalist has been selected already and you can vote online for this week's contestants.
Simone: And then we'll see if Greenlee has made any progress with Juan Pablo or if we still have a chance to win the bet.
Mia: Oh look, Greenlee set her apartment on fire. I wonder if it's because she didn't like the first finalist in the sexiest man contest?
Liza: No. She just found out that Jack is her real father.
Simone: What's the big deal? It could have been worse. She could have found out that Zeke was her real father. What ever happened to him anyway? A few months ago he was played by about 6 different actors, now he isn't being played by anyone.
Mia: It's not easy to find out you have long lost family members. You should have seen how I reacted when I found out my sister was the biggest - oops, sorry Liza.
Tad: We think she may be with Juan Pablo.
Simone: Oh no! Now we might lose the bet.
Mia: And we might lose Juan Pablo. Kendall, he was your mystery man too.
Kendall: Who cares? The audience is interested in real storylines, not that silly bet.
Simone: We care. We don't have any real storylines.
Tad: Why don't you all go look for Greenlee? Do you think you can find your way downstairs?
Mia: Sure. You turn left at the staircase. Simone: I think you turn right at the staircase.
Tad: Maybe you could try taking the staircase.
Mia and Simone: Oohh, you're so smart. ::giggle::::
Jack: Has anyone seen Greenlee?
Tad: No but she set the loft on fire.
Jack: ::sigh:: She's a Montgomery all right. We're a long line of fire starters. Back during the Civil War the Yankees didn't have to burn Charleston. My great great grandmother set it on fire when she found out that her Uncle Beauregard was really her father.
Tad: We think she was buring some family pictures.
Jack: Aww, look at this one. She looks just like my sister Christine.
Tad: Acckk! TKFP! Don't say that! You'll scare the audience.
Jack: Oh come on. It's not like I mentioned Laurel.
Tad: Acckkk! Ackkkk! Stop! I know you're upset but there's no need to torture everyone like this.

Juan Pablo and Greenlee were in Atlantic City.
Greenlee: Make love to me now.
Juan Pablo: In my country we do not consider great unhappiness as foreplay. Perhaps you will tell me what is wrong my lovely one.
Greenlee: I just found out my whole life is a lie.
Juan Pablo: I do not understand.
Greenlee: That's OK. I don't understand half of what you say either.
Juan Pablo: Tell me why your life is a lie.
Greenlee: The man who I thought was my father wasn't - and I gave some emmy worthy performances last year when he died too. All for nothing.
Juan Pablo: In my country we say the truth is like a butterfly. It may flutter away but the loveliness remains when it is gone.
Greenlee: Whatever. So are we going to have sex or what?
Juan Pablo: Or what. I could not take advantage of you in your distress.
Greenlee: You are such a good man.
Juan Pablo: Perhaps I am a hero after all. I wish my character had more definition.

David was preparing to go out of town.
David: Maybe I should skip the conference.
Anna: No David, I think you need to go. Your speech on building your own illegal research lab in a mountain cabin should be the highlight of the Doctors and Felons Conference.
David: I guess you're right. At least I know I'll have you to come home too. Think about my proposal while I'm gone. I can't wait to start planning our future. We have the rest of our lives together.
Anna: You haven't read the message boards lately have you?
David: No, why?
Anna: No reason.

Michael was crushed flatter than a pancake when a large tree fell on him.
Michael: That was your garage, not me.
Lizzie: I can dream can't I?
Michael: I'm going to call my daddy. Daddy, everyone is being mean to me. I want out of this town. Please Daddy pretty please, send me your private jet. All the pilots here threaten to drop me out of the airplane if I try to fly with them.
Alexander: Stop whining you little brat. I'm not sending a plane for you.
Michael: Then I'll hold my breath until I turn blue.
Alexander: Good. Now stop bothering me. My limo broke down and I'm traveling across the desert on a motorcycle.
Michael: I thought your limo broke down a couple of weeks ago.
Alexander: It's a very slow motorcyle. Now if you'll excuse me, the arm that rescued me is here.
Ryan's arm: You don't look so good. Do you need a doctor?
Alexander: Just get me to Vegas. And could you drive a little faster?
Ryan's arm: I'll see what I can do. I have a feeling this slow return is starting to irritate the audience.

QUOTES

Maggie: Bianca, tell her what Michael did to you. It's not too late.

Maggie: These cheesy puffs are actually really good when they're cold.

Bianca: What's the point in making any plans? Things never turn out the way you expect them to. Did you know that Lena offered me a ring?
Maggie: Like a proposal?
Bianca: Yeah, exactly like.
Maggie: You know, I really think you should consider telling her what happened. You need her right now.

Maggie: You know you can always count on me, don't you? Always.

David: Erica, I don't believe the state she's in has anything to do with a broken love affair.
Erica: All right, fine. But what, then? What are you actually saying, David?
Erica: You don't mean that Michael --
David: I can't be sure.
Erica: But --
David: Yes.
Erica: Well, you certainly wouldn't have come over here unless you thought --
David: The worst. Yes.
Erica: Oh. Oh, my baby.

Maggie: Is Michael gone?
Anna: Yeah. I had an officer follow him just to make sure he left the property. And I really tried to put the fear of God into him, so I don't think he'll be bothering you, Maggie.
Maggie: Me?
Anna: Yeah. He said you pulled a knife on him. Did you? Why?
Maggie: Because -- because he was acting crazy and he was frantic. Boyd and Aidan threw him in the dumpster, and he missed the wedding, so --
Anna: So he goes after you? He's such a coward. That doesn't make him any less dangerous.
Maggie: No. We know he's dangerous.
David: Well, he's gone now, so you girls can just relax.
Anna: I really wish I had something that I could hold him on, you know. Did he hurt you, Maggie?
Maggie: No, he didn't hurt me.
Anna: Are you ok, Bianca?
Bianca: The only thing that I’m not ok about is what happened to my mother today. My problems are nothing compared to hers.
Anna: No, of course.
David: Yeah, but still, Bianca, it would be great if you could help Anna in some way.
Anna: Yeah. Michael Cambias should be in jail after everything he's done.
Bianca: Yes, but I’m sorry, I can't help you.
Anna: You sure? Did he say something or threaten you? Did he touch you?
Maggie: Bianca, tell her what Michael did to you. It's not too late.

***** (clip b) [Bianca is still obsessioning about Erica (no Lena)]

[amc030805b starts]
Anna: What is it, Bianca? Did Michael Cambias do something to you tonight?
David: You know, perhaps it would be easier if you just speak with Anna.
Anna: We can do that.
David: Yeah. Well, we'll go outside, and we'll come back when you want.
Bianca: No, wait, stop. Where is everybody going? Look, Michael Cambias came in here tonight smelling like garbage, but he didn't do anything to me.
David: But if he had, Bianca, it's not going to serve anything to keep it to yourself.
Anna: We can help you, you know, if you --
Maggie: Yeah, that's true.
Bianca: I'm not the one who needs help, ok? My mother -- can you just imagine how she feels right now? I mean, this afternoon, she stood right here, and she was about to be married. And all of that was blasted away by horrible lies.
David: Bianca --
Bianca: She held it all right in her hand, and it was snatched away from her. She's the one who's suffering right now, not me.

***** (clip c) [Maggie offers Bianca cheesepuffs (no Lena)]

[amc030805c starts]
Maggie: So these cheesy puffs are actually really good when they're cold.
Bianca: You don't have to make small talk. Just tell me what a coward you think I am.
Maggie: Hey, I do not think that you are a coward. I think that you're extremely brave. And that's why I will support you. I can't even imagine what you're going through right now.
Bianca: Thank you.
Maggie: And trust you to know what you need to do however long it takes.
Bianca: Can you just imagine how my mother would feel after everything that she's been through today if I told her what happened to me just to make myself feel better?
Maggie: Well, if you're going to put everyone else in the world first, then I’m just going to be here for you, always.
Bianca: It's not an excuse, I hope, to rat me out.
Maggie: No. Actually, it's so you'll help me finish these cheese puffs.
Bianca: Thanks. I'm not hungry.
Maggie: Come on, you need to eat.
Bianca: I'll eat later.
Maggie: You almost passed out before Michael came in here, ok? So now help me eat these before I feel like the oinker from Green Bay.
Bianca: All right. It's the least I can do.

***** (clip d) [David shares his suspicions with Anna (no Lena)]

[amc030805d starts]
Anna: What did Michael Cambias do to Bianca? There were other people here. He wasn't alone with her.
David: Anna, it didn't happen tonight.
Anna: Well, when?
David: I don't know. I don't know, I can't be certain when anything happened, but I believe that Michael got to her.
Anna: And did what?
David: The worst.
Anna: What makes you think that?
David: Bianca was in a state of panic when we walked in there earlier, and we caught Michael with his hands on Maggie, right? I mean, you didn't see -- you didn't see her. You were off to the side speaking with Michael, and I could see her face.
Anna: Are you sure about this, David?
David: No, I -- I can't be 100% sure about it, but I -- look, but I am sure that Bianca’s been acting very peculiar lately, and -- and I do know that she confided something to Maggie, and I believe that Maggie really wants to tell me what's going on, but she can't.
Anna: No, she can’t. Not if she promised Bianca, she can’t.
David: No, no, she can't, and we can't force her to tell us.
Anna: That would just make it worse.
David: Look, I've decided I’m not going to the surgical conference in Santa Barbara.
Anna: No, you should go.
David: No, are you kidding? I can't just go tomorrow. Not if Bianca’s pain is what I think it is.
Anna: I think that's precisely why you should go. I think that you need a couple of days of just being the great Dr. Hayward. You know, you'll give your speech, and you'll talk shop. You'll come back, you'll feel much better. A little better.
David: All right. You're right, you're right. And I know you'll take care of Bianca.
Anna: Oh, I will if I can.
David: And I know there's not much I can do at this point. I mean, not until she opens up to us, at least.
Anna: No, not yet. Not until she's ready.
David: Right.
Anna: Maybe when you come back.
David: When I come back?
Anna: Yeah.
David: Well, that is the one good thing about going to this conference. Knowing that I’ll have you to come back to, waiting for me.
Anna: I'll be here.
David: I'm not going to take this for granted, Anna. You're the one thing in my life that I really can be grateful for.
Anna: Whatever happens next, we'll face it together.

***** (clip e) [David begins to tell Erica his suspicions about Bianca (Lena mention)]

[amc030805e starts]
Erica: Oh.
David: Erica.
Erica: Oh. I'm sorry, David. I can't see you right now.
David: No, I know, I know this isn't the best time right now, but I’m leaving town tomorrow, and before I do, I need to ask you if you're aware of what's been going on with Bianca lately.
Erica: Well, what's going on? Well, I mean, I know that she broke up with Lena. Is that what you mean? That's why she's been fighting this deep depression.
David: Are you sure that's the reason?
Erica: Well, I -- well, she was -- she was gone all night, and she came home this morning, and it really frightened me how she looked.
David: Last night?
Erica: Yes, she -- she said that she had been out late with Maggie. My mind was somewhere else, so -- why are you asking me about Bianca? What are you trying to say, David?
David: What I’m trying to say, Erica, is that I believe that something more is going on with her, and I’m pretty convinced that it involves Michael Cambias.
Erica: Michael Cambias? Oh, my God.

***** (clip f) [Maggies suggests that Bianca tell Lena about the rape (Lena mention)]

[amc030805f starts]
Maggie: Hey, I found great shrimpy things.
Bianca: Oh, Maggie, I mean it, stop it.
Maggie: Come on, come on.
Bianca: It's enough.
Maggie: Come on. No, they're already paid for. You might as well.
Bianca: All right, Myrtle.
Maggie: Hey, it could be a lot worse, you know. Being like Myrtle -- big red hair, always being the smartest person in the room. Hey, let's make a pact to grow up like Myrtle.
Bianca: I can't even think about next week, let alone 50 years from now.
Maggie: So we'll take baby steps.
Bianca: No, Maggie, I can’t. It'll make her feel guilty about her connection to Michael Cambias, and --
Maggie: No, no, no. She loves you. And right now, you need everyone who loves you so much around you.
Bianca: Maggie, Lena is the last person that I can tell about this.
Maggie: Why?
Bianca: Because if she knew, she wouldn't feel the same about me.
Maggie: Of course that's not true.
Bianca: Why do you say that? I mean, I don't feel the same about me.

***** (clip g) [Maggie tells Bianca that she can always count on her (no Lena)]

[amc030805g starts]
Maggie: You know, I'll always feel the same way about you.
Bianca: Sure.
Maggie: You will always be you, and I will always be me. Nothing will ever change that, no matter what.
Bianca: Maggie, if you hadn't been there for me to tell you, I think I would have gone crazy.
Maggie: You know you can always count on me, don't you? Always.
Bianca: Thank you.
Maggie: You know I love you.
Bianca: Yeah, I know.

***** (clip h) [David continues with his suspicions and Erica gets it (Lena inference)]

[amc030805h starts]
Erica: So Maggie was protecting Bianca from Michael Cambias.
David: Yes. But if you had seen the look on her face --
Erica: Yes?
David: Erica, I don't believe the state she's in has anything to do with a broken love affair.
Erica: All right, fine. But what, then? What are you actually saying, David?
Erica: You don't mean that Michael --

Erica: But --
David: Yes.
Erica: Well, you certainly wouldn't have come over here unless you thought --
David: The worst. Yes.
Erica: Oh. Oh, my baby.
David: Erica, I’ve spoken with Anna. Now, she's going to keep a real close watch over Bianca, make sure nothing else happens to her.
[Erica whimpers]
David: And she'd be happy to speak with you if you just want to call her, all right? Now, I’m going to be gone for just a few short days, and you know that I would do anything I can for Bianca and for you.
Erica: Yes. Thank you, David. Could you just -- could you just go now?
David: I'm sorry I had to bring this to you.
Erica: I know. Thank you.
David: I'm sorry to hear that.
