SYNOPSIS:

This synopsis is by Sally Dye .

Teaser

Cleo is asking Hel and Sarge for advice on how to dress for the upcoming summit meeting between mutants and warlords. Should she wear her "I'm serious about peace but I still like to party" outfit or the "I'm open minded but no one with flippers need apply" getup? Sarge's advice: "I have a defense gauntlet and I know how to use it" might be more appropriate. Voice interrupts the wardrobe selection to remind them that they are going to the conference to protect Marla, a former fighter who is now working for peace. Sarge is skeptical that Marla could really have changed from the violent person she used to be. The three jump down the shaft en route to the conference. Sarge reminds them that she needs to swing by and pick up Lily. She says she will meet up with Hel and Cleo at the conference.

Meanwhile Lily is waiting in a mutant nightclub where she is hit on by some ugly underground types who first make conversation and then grab her and inject her with some mysterious serum. Enter Sarge, who fights the ugly ones off. Then a hologram of their leader -- Slade -- appears and tells Sarge that he has injected Lily with a swarm of self-replicating critters that will activate in three hours, consuming every cell in her body, unless Sarge kills Marla.

Act I

Slade tells Sarge that if she kills Marla he will give her the antidote to the serum. The hologram vanishes. Sarge tells Lily that Slade was the leader of the Black Watch and that she used to work with them. She tells Lily that Marla has probably not really changed as everyone thinks she has and that she is willing to kill Marla to save Lily.

Hel and Cleo arrive at the conference and greet Marla, who seems to be acquainted with Hel. Marla tells Cleo that it was Hel who convinced her to try for peace. Sarge and Lily arrive. Sarge warns Lily not to tell Hel and Cleo what she is planning to do. Cleo is thrilled to see Lily again and takes her off to mingle. Sarge tells Hel that she will go to guard Marla in her quarters if Hel will keep an eye on Lily and Cleo. Hel laughingly agrees. Sarge heads off to Marla's quarters.

Lily begins to feel guilty and finally confesses to Cleo that Sarge plans to kill Marla. Cleo screams for Hel.

Act II

Sarge takes care of the guards at Marla's door and gets into her quarters. She and Marla fight and each is pretty much a match for the other. Sarge finally throws Marla and powers up her gauntlets. Marla: "Go ahead...assassin." Before Sarge can fire, Hel breaks in the door, followed by Cleo and Lily. Hel jumps between Sarge and Marla and tells Sarge that Lily has told them everything. Hel says there is another way to save Lily besides killing Marla.

Back at the nightclub, Cleo comes in dressed to the nines and makes conversation with the Black Watch guy at the bar. The guy -- Drake -- is taken in by her flirting and agrees to take her to Black Watch Central. Hel, Sarge and Lily are monitoring Cleo's whereabouts. Drake introduces Cleo to Slade as "Madonna". Slade is immediately suspicious and finds Cleo's hidden microphone. He taunts Cleo with the antidote, knowing she must be working with Sarge. Just then Hel, Sarge and Lily burst in, gauntlets blazing. Cleo runs to rescue the antidote, which is dropped in the confusion of the battle. Slade grabs Cleo just as she recovers the antidote, but Hel shoots a pipe next to him. Steam pours out, allowing Cleo to escape. Sarge knocks Slade out and they inject Lily with the antidote just in time.

Marla tells Slade that once she would just have killed him for trying to have her killed, but that times have changed, and she now stands for law and order. Sarge decides that she has changed, too. She tells Lily that she is going to arrange for some sessions with her old combat master so that Lily can learn to defend herself. Voice tells Hel that the team did a good job. She then cautions Hel about the drink Hel is holding and Hel realizes that Voice must be in the room amongst all the delegates from the different levels. Sarge, Cleo and Lily are ready to leave, but Hel says she will stay and mingle for a while. Cleo's parting advice: "Remember Hel, no glove, no love."
