This synopsis is by Sally Dye .
Cleo, Hel and Sarge are standing topside on a grassy knoll watching as three Baileys approach. They are amazed, marveling at the detail. The Baileys fire at them. Cleo seems nervous, but Hel and Sarge laugh. Hel commands, "Freeze program one," and everything stops.
Cleo is assisted out of a simulator tube, as Hel and Sarge exit their tubes also. Hel says that the training possibilities of these simulators are endless. They are about to strike a deal to buy the simulators, when suddenly the door is blasted open and two betrayers enter. One by one, Mauser, Sarge and Hel are shot and fall to the floor. With her last breath, Hel tells Cleo to go. Cleo is confronted by a betrayer and........she wakes up, gasping, from the nightmare. Everything is dark, and she commands, "Lights on!" but nothing happens. A hand comes up to grasp her shoulder, and she hops out of bed, calling for Hel and Sarge. The figure in the bed claps twice and the lights come on, revealing....."Johnny?" Cleo is dumbfounded to find herself in a bedroom with her old boyfriend. She runs to the window and sees a city street. She looks at a calendar, which reads October, 2001. She whispers, "I'm home."
Cleo still can't believe she's back in the 21st century. She runs from place to place muttering, "I know, this is that 'Total Recall' plot..." Johnny tries to calm her down, telling her that the pills the doctor gave her after the operation "really zone you out." He insists that she has just had a dream. She touches his face and hair, and finally begins to accept the fact that she really is home.
Hel and Sarge emerge from their simulators, laughing, amazed at what they can experience through them. They call to Cleo, but she doesn't get out of her simulator. Sarge tries the door, but receives a jolt of electricity. Mauser says that whoever is in the tube has Cleo trapped there. They blast the tube with their weapons, but cannot free Cleo. Mauser studies the simulation Cleo is in and says he can put Hel and Sarge there, but he warns that, while their weaponry can interact with the simulation, the weapons in the simulation can also interact with them. Hel: "Sounds like fun." She and Sarge enter their tubes and Mauser sends them into Cleo's simulation.
They appear in a parking lot, about to be run down by a semi (a la Jean-Claude Van Damme in "Timecop"). They blast it with their gauntlets and jump out of the way before they are hit. Hel: "So much for not calling attention to ourselves." A police car pulls up and two police officers yell "Freeze!" Sarge wonders if they should kill them, but Hel decides that they are authority figures of the time and they should play along. Hel: "We apologize if we've caused any disturbance to your way of life." The police officers grab them and start to cuff them, so Hel and Sarge use their gauntlets to get free and stun the officers. They tie up the officers and see that the uniforms say Los Angeles Police Dept. They remember that Cleo went to acting school there. Sarge, looking around: "So this is Cleo's world?" Hel is impressed that they are pre-Bailey and hopes they have enough time to go exploring. But first things first. They ask the officers about exotic dancing places nearby. Then they dress in the officers' uniforms and hijack a car, using the command "Freeze!" to good effect. After a few disasterous spins about the parking lot, Hel manages to drive away.
In a nightclub, Cleo is introduced as a "stripper of the future" and gets up to perform. Hel and Sarge arrive and see Cleo, but are confronted by Johnny, who gives a command to lock them out of the program and out of Cleo's sight. They realize that he is the one controlling Cleo's simulation.
Back at the lab, Mauser says he has enhanced the simulation so that they cannot be locked out again. But he warns that it will also inhibit his ability to withdraw them from the simulation. They must get Johnny to voluntarily shut it down for them to escape. Hel and Sarge get back in the tubes.
Back in the past, Hel and Sarge enter the nightclub again, this time in their own clothes. The bouncer recognizes them as the "cops" that had been there earlier. Sarge asks him where Cleo is. He says if she gives him a private show, he might tell her. Sarge says she has a better idea: "You can dance for me." She starts firing at his feet and the bouncer stutters out that Johnny and Cleo went to the park. Hel: "I love her work."
Johnny and Cleo are walking in the park. Johnny says Cleo has an offer to go to Vegas and dance. Cleo doesn't know if that's the life she wants anymore. She says that now she feels like she's been a part of something bigger -- like rescuing a slave girl or retrieving a pod. She doesn't know if she can be happy with this life now. Johnny says that she can pick another life, then. She asks what he means, but he pulls out an engagement ring and asks her to marry him. Cleo is speechless. Just then, Hel and Sarge roar into the park in their car and crash into another vehicle. They jump out and call to Cleo. Cleo is amazed to see them, but before she can run to greet them, Johnny calls out a weapons configuration command and several guys with guns appear and start firing at Hel and Sarge. Hel and Sarge manage to take them all out and tell Cleo that everything she is experiencing is a simulation. Cleo demands an explanation from Johnny. He tells her that when Cleo was frozen, he missed her so much that he was frozen, too. When he was thawed, he learned to build the simulated world so that when he found her he could take her there. Cleo begs him to take them out of the simulation and start for real in 2525. She asks why she would want a virtual Johnny when she could have the real thing. He says she always was stubborn and he really loved that about her. They all start to vanish.
Cleo wakes up in the tube. Hel and Sarge pull her out. Then they realize that someone else is in the tube, too. An elderly man emerges. Cleo: "Johnny?" Johnny explains that they thawed him out 50 years too soon. He gives Cleo the engagement ring "to remember us by", and then slumps over. Mauser begins a technical explanation about how Johnny's projection had drained his life force, but Hel stops him. Cleo says that she may need help getting through this. Hel and Sarge kneel beside her. Sarge: "We're here." Hel: "For as long as it takes."
