SYNOPSIS:
Synopsis by Liz Sheppard
Bunches of thanks to
Kayli at the Hercules net forum for helping me out
with the beginning of this episode. Curses to all
hockey games that go into
overtime!!! The show starts at Ares' temple. Ares is
sitting around blowing
up statues when Discord comes along. Discord wants to
take Strife's place
as Ares' second in command. She say's
she'll surprise him and he'll be so tickled, he'll want
her back.
Herc and Iolaus are on
their way to visit Alcmene and Jason (It's their
2nd anniversary). Hermes comes along and tells Herc
that someone stole
Artemis' bow and she needs his help getting it back.
Herc suspects Auto and
they head off to find him while Hermes goes to watch
mud wrestling.
Guards are bringing gold
to some King's vault. One guard is left to guard
the rest of the gold. He takes off his helmet and
(surprise) it's Auto. As
he is helping himself to the gold, Herc grabs his hand.
Auto and Iolaus
throw insults back and forth as Herc tries to get Auto
to tell him what
happened to the bow. Auto says he sold it, but he won't
tell who he sold it
to. As they are talking, Discord appears with Artemis'
bow and shoots Herc.
He turns into a pig ("The other
white meat")
Auto and Iolaus argue
some more. Auto describes the woman he sold the bow
to and Iolaus figures out that it was Discord. Iolaus
goes off to Ares'
temple to find her, Herc in tow. Ioluas tells Auto that
Ares is involved,
then Auto freaks out and tries to leave, but Iolaus
talks sense into him.
Ares and Discord, while
watching all of this, plan to call Herc "Porcules"
then decide to have the porker hunted. Discord visits a
dirty hunter named
Clochis, starts flirting with him in a perverted way,
and tells him to kill
Porcules.
While in the marketplace,
people keep trying to buy Porker, which makes
Auto and Iolaus argue some more. A fight scene breaks
out when Clochis
tries to take the pig instead of actually killing him
like Discord
wanted(but who follows rules these days?) Porky even
beats up some dogs
because he's....Porcules. He then runs into a cook that
I would rather die
than to eat his food. While being taken to his bacony
death, he meets a
cute piglet named Katherine. For a pig, she's smart;
she knows all about
Hercules.
Iolaus and Auto get lazy
and decide to steal Hermes sandals while he's
busy watching female mud wrestling by pretending to
clean his feet. Auto
puts on the sandals and flies away to save Porky right
before he turns into
bacon. Porky then frees all the other farm animals, but
Katherine wants to
go with him. The mortals find out they can communicate
with Porky through a
talking bird. They plan to visit Alcmene and Jason.
Alcmene faints when she
finds out her son is a pig, but later excepts him and
decides to eat less
ham. Clochis shows up and starts to quote nursery
rhymes. Katherine runs
out to save Porky but she gets taken away by Clochis.
He takes her to
Discord who gets mad that he made another mistake.
Ares shows up and
torches him into a little ash pile. While Ares and
Discord are arguing,
Auto flies in and tries to steal the bow, but gets
caught. The bird gives
the bow to Iolaus who shoots Discord, turning her into
a chicken (I know
it's a rooster, but for stupidities sake, I'm calling
it a chicken. Also,
this was the highlight of this episode for me. I don't
care if I get
flamed, I gotta say it: I'm a big Strife fan and I
really can not stand
Discord at all; let's hope she stays a chicken
forever). Ares takes his
chicken and tries to leave with a hint of manliness in
him, but fails.
Porky tells Katherine
that he'll take her home. Iolaus shoots him and he
turns into the regular hunk o' man we know and love.
Iolaus and Auto show a
hint of friendship, but they won't ever admit it. Herc
goes to take
Katherine home.
TALES OF THE HERCAVERSE
01-18-99. From Beth Gaynor. This episode was mentioned at the Cherry Hill, NJ Con. (08/29-30/98). Alexandra Tydings tried her best to have fun with the mudbath as Catherine the Pig (in Hercules' Porkules). She described it as an acting challenge. She had to really sell that she was a pig and absolutely loooooved getting in that mud. So she thought about ice cream. And had a grand ol' time rolling in mud with 20 aghast people gathered around her filming it. It worked most of time, except for the occasional moment of cold reality. Like when she felt something brush past her leg.
01-18-99. From KSZoneW. My Fair Cupcake: Ares throne from HTLJ's "Armageddon Now" was seen in Georgas' throne room. It was also seen in HTLJ's "Porkules" but has a skull on top of it in that episode.
04-19-98. This episode is an
homage to BABE.

ending with ONE FOWL DAY.

Bruce Campbell website: upcoming episode called
'Porkules'. In this episode, Hercules is turned into a
pig and Autolycus and Iolaus have to try and rectify
the
