The fire-breathing Basilisk, Ruff, returns to Corinth as the star attraction of a traveling sideshow. When the boys see their mistreated, malnourished friend they are overwrought with concern and inadvertently free him. Once again, it’s a race against time to get Ruff to safety before he is captured by the evil sideshow barker or a mob of angry townsfolk.

SYNOPSIS:

This synopsis is by Deb Roche
The guys are all in Corinth. A freak show is in town and it's star attraction is Ruff. Who, despite the fact that he's really grown, Iolaus recognizes. Ruff seems to recognize Iolaus too.
The guys try to buy Ruff from the "circus" guy but he says the monster isn't for sale.
Later Iolaus decides to free Ruff and Herc helps. They rescue him and take him to a cave. Where, once Iolaus removes the muzzle, Ruff shoots a ball of fire at them and runs off.
Ruff "attacks" a villager's farm -- burning it to the ground. The people turn into a mob and set out after "the beast"
Iolaus and Herc decide to try to find Ruff before the mob. Jason alos helps by taking a sentry detail out to find Ruff.
But, Jason is caught by "circus guy" and thrown into a pit.
Herc and Iolaus find Ruff, but Ruff runs off.
Ruff falls into the same pit that Jason is in. "Circus guy" looks down at his captives. Herc and Iolaus show up. Iolaus takes a swing at "circus guy" and winds up in the pit. Herc and "circus guy" duke it out and "circus guy" ends up in the pit.
Herc gets everyone out and the guys take Ruff to an island. Herc says that Ruff will be safe here.
Herc: Kora says the island is sacred to Artemis.
Jas : Kora? What does Kora have to do with Artemis?
Herc: I don't know.
The guys say goodbye to Ruff once again. And Iolaus says he'll miss him.
