Sydney becomes part of one of Nostradamus' prophecies when she must stop an assassin from killing a member of the royal family. ClickTV
Sydney and Nigel must crack the prophet's cryptic code to learn the identity of the assassin in time. Excite TV
When one of Nostradamus' prophecies predicts that a Fox will stop a royal assassination, it throws Sydney - and Nigel - into an international intrigue. To learn the identity of the assassin in time, Sydney and Nigel must crack the prophet's cryptic code, armed only with precious little "need to know" information and a 16th century riddle.
COMMENTARY
This commentary is by Beboman.
This is going to be a short commentary, not because I did not like the episode. I just felt there was something missing. All the ingredients for good soup were there, but the end product did not come out right.
The idea that Sydney could have been mentioned in the prophecies of Nostradamus was good, but getting Sydney there was a long road and I found it a bit boring. I did have to agree with Nigel that they do need a vacation, but that will never happen hanging with Sydney and Nigel better realize that.
So, Sydney's interest and ego are peaked and this leads them to look for the missing Nostradamus medallion. During the search they come across an old rival of Sydney, Castillos, and they soon realize they are both looking for the medallion. They also realize they are both being used by MI5. So far this is not a bad idea, but still something did not work in this whole plan.
The show picked up pace when they found the bible and the medallion inside the crypt and were able to decypher the poem. Now that was cool. Then it picked up again when Sydney realized the Cobra was Watson. These two moments were the best in the show. Of course, when once again the medallion is missing and is shown to be in the tomb of Nostradamus; that was marvelous.
I thought it was interesting that the name for their contact was Watson. Does this name ring a bell with anyone?
This episode reaffirms that Nigel and Sydney make a good team. It also shows that Sydney has some great powers of intuition and is able to think very fast on her feet.
For the rest, as I said before, this episode lacked something.
