RE-CAPS:

From The Official Site at ABC.com:
http://abc.go.com/daytime/allmychildren/episodes/2003-04/20030512.html

Bianca decides to test Lena's loyalty by taking her to Erica's penthouse. Bianca is devastated when she sees Lena breaking into Erica's safe via the hidden surveillance cameras. Bianca later shocks Erica, Kendall and Jack when she insists on helping them ruin Michael if it also means destroying Lena. Lena gives Michael the formula she stole from Erica's safe.

From About All My Children
http://allmychildren.about.com/cs/recaps/a/bl20030512r.htm

As the reporter watches them, Jack asks why Erica doesn’t just give Bianca a call? Erica thinks her daughter would hang up on her; her response is always the same, “Whenever she falls for the wrong person, she blames me.” Jack thinks she should just let her get over it. Erica compares it to standing on the railroad tracks with a train bearing down on her, but Jack says she would hear it and get off the tracks; she’s an adult, and adults make mistakes, especially when it comes to affairs of the heart. Erica says Lena is really good, and even fooled her at first. Lena is heartless, without conscience, and she’s exploiting Bianca. Jack says she’s warned Bianca and Kendall has warned Bianca; maybe she realizes she’s on the road to heartbreak, and thinks it’s worth it...

Bianca and Lena go to Erica’s penthouse, laden down with packages after shopping. Lena thinks it’s beautiful, like something out of a magazine, but Bianca tells her that she liked their old place better. Lena recalls that the fire started in her room, and Bianca protests, “Yeah, but I didn’t set it, I swear!” She says she’s kidding, and tells Lena when she was a little girl, she found out her mother was betraying her father, having an affair with her Uncle Jack; she got very angry and set her Uncle Jack’s doll on fire. It burned down the house, and nothing’s ever been the same since. Lena says she’s making her feel guilty because of what happened last night when she came back, when Bianca saw Michael leaving her room. She repeats that he wanted her to spy for Enchantment and she said no, but she doesn’t think Bianca believes she loves her. Bianca says she knows, but they don’t really know that much about one other. Lena protests that they got so close yesterday, and they do know what’s important to each other—they’re lucky they got beyond just facts. When Lena says she believes in kindred spirits, Bianca thinks they should get busy. Lena tells her all they have to do is put this stuff in the fridge, and Bianca says it was so sweet of her to think of getting this all set up for her mom and Uncle Jack when they get home. Lena tells her that Erica means a lot to her. Bianca asks if she reminds her of her mother when she was alive? Lena replies that Erica’s made her feel very much at home at Enchantment, and Bianca promises to tell her when she gets home just who is responsible for all these goodies. Lena gets a call from Michael as Bianca leaves the room. He asks where she is, and did she get it? Bianca comes back as Lena says she can probably overnight it to him. Michael reminds her that her mother’s future depends on her, “I wonder how long she’ll last when she’s been convicted of spying for the Communists.” He says he wants results, and Lena hangs up after telling him he’ll have what he wants. Lena looks around and realizes they forgot the flowers they brought; she asks Bianca to get them from the car. As soon as she leaves, Lena takes a deep breath and looks around the penthouse.

Bianca stands in the security office of the building and recalls Kendall’s words that Lena is only with her because Michael told her to seduce her, and asking if Lena has ever tried to gain access where she doesn’t belong? She sits down in front of the surveillance cameras as the guard says he could get fired for this; he knows she’s Erica Kane’s daughter, but she didn’t say anything about this. Bianca tells him to be quiet! She watches as Lena takes the PDA out of her purse and prays aloud, “Don't do it, Lena. Please, if I mean anything to you, don't do it!” Her eyes filled with tears, she watches as Lena gets the combination and heads to the safe. Lena looks around furtively before opening it, and Bianca cries as she says everything Kendall said was true. The guard comes back and asks if she’s all right? Bianca tells him to turn it off—she’s seen enough. He starts to call the cops, but Bianca tells him to do nothing, “I’ll take care of this.”

Bianca returns with the flowers, and looks around as she notes that Lena works fast. She repeats that this is so sweet of her, adding that Lena has a good heart. Even though she doesn’t know her very well, she should believe that, right? Lena tells her she will make sure that she really gets to know her; it will be her number one priority as long as they’re together; she will make sure that from now on she never doubts that everything she tells her is the truth. She reminds Bianca of when she stopped her from leaving the country, saying they were worth fighting for but she didn’t want to do it alone.

Bianca agrees she gets emotional at airports, and goodbyes are her specialty. She says Lena never told her why she was going to leave, and Lena replies that Michael was pressuring her to spy for him, and her first instinct was to pack her bags and go, but then she came and made her realize all she was going to miss—the question isn’t why she was leaving, but why she stayed, “Bianca, I stayed for you.” She takes a step toward her, but Bianca backs up and says they should get going; her mom and Uncle Jack will be back soon and are definitely going to want their privacy...

Michael is at his condo doing pushups when Lena lets herself in and tosses a CD case at him as she says now he can stop what he’s doing to her! Cambias gets up as he asks, “The billion dollar disk—you got it for me?” Lena says yes, he has Boyd’s formula, so now he should leave her and her mother alone. Michael asks if she’s going to get her little seaside house with Bianca, and Lena tells him she means it, “Enough!” She leaves, and Michael laughs in delight as he looks at the Enchantment disk...

Bianca comes through the door and says she [Erica] was right, “Mom, I hope you’re happy, because everything you said about Lena is true.” Erica insists she’s not happy because Lena hurt her and she hates her for that, but she and Michael Cambias are going to pay! Bianca says that’s good, because that’s all she wants. Erica takes her in her arms and tells her not to worry, “They are going to be so sorry that they ever messed with us!”

Previously on All My Children
*sshat observed Kendall kiss Boyd.
*sshat wanted Lena to make a raid on Erica’s penthouse.
Edmund wanted to set a trap for Flanders...

Bianca is letting Lena into Erica’s Den of Iniquity. Bianca launches randomly into her “I set the house on fire once” story. Well, maybe it’s not so random. It kind of lets Lena know that Bianca will do some pretty drastic things if she feels she’s been betrayed. Bianca obviously still doubts that Lena was being all that truthful so Lena restates her complete and utter love for Bianca. Awww. But dude, Lena, you are SO f*****. And not in the more fortunate literal sense.

Oh! Oh! If it hadn’t been for Abby, I would have completely missed the fact that Bianca’s new outfit today (she finally changed!) had a sparkle explosion on the side of it. I of course, immediately speculate that she most likely had some disaster befall her while walking past the arts and crafts section of Wal Mart. Hee, the mental imagery of Bianca at a Wal Mart is comedy gold...

Bianca is still doubtful on account that she and Lena don’t know each other all that well. Lena says that there’s plenty of time for them to find out piddly details about each other like favorite colors and books. “Or how you got that little scar,” Bianca points to Lena’s left hand. They finally get to expositing why they’re at Erica’s. Lena had managed to get Bianca to invite her over by suggesting they stock the place up with food now that Jack is out of the hospital. Oh sure, because Jack doesn’t have a teenage foster son that he has to get home to or anything, he’s just going to sack out at Erica’s and let Reggie have the run of his apartment.

Lena answers her cell phone and has to speak in vague phrases to *sshat’s impatient inquiries about her progress. He’s all threatening, blah blah. After hanging up, Lena gets her arms full of bags before she remarks that the bouquet they bought accidentally got left in her car. She asks Bianca if she’ll get it since her own hands are full. Bianca can smell the banquet of bulls*** a mile away and barely hides her dismay about Lena’s request. She leaves and Lena steels herself with a few quick breaths...

Bianca stands in a room made of cement block walls, next to a fire hose. She looks incredibly unhappy as she flashes back to Kendall’s warnings. I love the one they picked: “Bianca, your girlfriend is sleeping with my boyfriend.” Bianca looks over to her right and we see the surveillance monitors that show Erica’s penthouse. Dude! How icky would it be to have the security job of monitoring those particular cameras? Let’s keep in mind that the monitor on the left there? Would have afforded a very detailed view of Jack and Erica the night they had sex. Yeah, I’d be slitting my wrists if I had that job.

The security guard whines about Bianca’s unauthorized presence. She channels her mother as she simply states that she’s Erica Kane’s daughter. He continues to protest but finally stalks away when all Bianca will do is shush him rather than leave. Bianca watches Lena sneak around the penthouse and go through her purse. Bianca begs at Camera Lena to not do it...

Bianca is nearly in tears as she continues to watch Lena on the monitors. Lena opens the safe as Bianca bemoans the fact that Kendall’s warnings were not unfounded. The guard returns and asks a sniffling Bianca what’s wrong. She begs him to turn off the monitors. He does but also picks up the phone, intending to call the police. She tells him not to and says that she will take care of it herself...

Bianca returns to the penthouse with the flowers. She has not managed to regain her composure. A cheery Lena doesn’t seem to notice Bianca’s change in mood as she bounds in from the kitchen and takes the bouquet. Lena brings up Bianca tracking her down at the airport so Binks asks why she was leaving in the first place. Lena lies that since *sshat was pressuring her to be a turncoat, her first instinct was to hightail it. She gushes about how much she’d have missed out on if Bianca hadn’t stopped her from leaving. Lena tries to embrace her but Bianca jumps away and nervously declares that they should probably go now. Lena bows her head sadly before finally getting her purse...

Whee! The *sshat does pushups all shirtless and in lounge pants. Lena storms him and chucks a disc at him, demanding that *sshat leave her and her mother alone now. She storms out while I relish the close-up on the disc because the camera pans up *sshat’s well-muscled torso before resting on his face. Pan back down! More chest!...

Bianca returns to the penthouse, still upset. She practically chokes on the words as she has to admit that Erica was right about Lena. Erica insists that both Lena and *sshat are going to pay dearly for their duplicitousness. Bianca is glad because that’s now all she wants.

On the next All My Children
Greenlee thinks Kendall is letting herself be played again.
Bianca worries that Erica is going to ambush Lena.
Lena insists that her and *sshat’s affiliation is over but he’s not so quick to let her go.
Mauria and Aidan mackage is interrupted by a screeching Maddie.

Lena parts are indicated in red for those who only want a Lena fix

TODAY ON AMC:

  • Erica has breakfast.
  • Michael has a new plan.
  • Bianca sets a trap for Lena.
  • The truth comes out. In part.

At A Restaurant - Erica and Jack are having breakfast; Jack looks good. Hum, I thought he was still barely breathing. Must be the power of LaKane's love. Or his fear that she'll run for the hills. Either one.

Wow, Erica will eat half a grapefruit. I dunno, do you think that's fattening?

Erica's hair is, again, bigger than her face and head. Combined. Erica, I know someone on DuPont Circle in D.C. who can take care of that for you: she moonlights at Lambda Rising.

Erica's Penthouse - Bianca and Lena are coming in with "welcome back home" goodies for Erica and Jack. Oh, yum: Lena's smile is gorgeous.

Bianca tells Lena she set the other house on fire when she caught her mom cheating on her dad with his brother (Jack) and then set a Jack doll on fire. Is this true? I dunno, I've only been watching AMC for 2 weeks, but it sound feasible that an entire house would burn to the ground because of a doll. Yeah. Anyway, Lena internalizes that whole cheating thing:

Lena: "You're making me feel guilty because of what happened last night when you got back."
Bianca: "You mean, when I saw Michael leaving your room?"
Lena: "Bianca, I thought I explained..."
Bianca: "Yes, that he wanted you to spy for him at Enchantment and that you said no."

I smell a set-up. Plus, the conversation feels stilted and cautious and about something else entirely.

Lena: "You sound like you don't believe me."
Bianca: "What, that you sent him away unsatisfied?"

I think I've just snorted.

Lena: "That I love you."

And I get whiplash. What? So, this is the conversation you're actually having. This is "I love you" number 4 for Lena, right? Bianca has yet to say it, which she might never get a chance to if Lena doesn't get that pole out of her Polish *ss and start talking.

At The Hospital - I don't know who these people are, except I think that little girl is a brat. And a pain in the *ss. I almost wish that guy had pressed the pillow down harder. Horrible, right? Yeah, well, I don't care. There is a guy with hair I think he stole from a skunk's tail: good to know that bad hair, on this show, is an equal opportunity offender. And I fast-forward.

At Michael's - Michael has another plan. Boy, this guy is always thinking. Today's plan is this: Kendall will make it seem as if Erica is nuts and, therefore, unfit to run Enchantment; she is to hint at Erica's state of mind in a public setting, where she will be overheard by journalists who will, in turn, run to write the story of LaKane's descent into madness.

Erica's Penthouse - Back to important things.

Bianca: "I have a habit of falling for women who seem to care about me but..."

Did you hear that? I think 5 million people just shouted "Maggie!," but I can't be sure.

Lena: "Bianca, I care about you."
Bianca: "And I care about you but, I mean, honestly Lena, we don't know that much about one another."

Lena is puzzled by this and so am I: you didn't think about this before...why exactly?

Lena: "How can you say that? Yesterday we got so close. I mean, I thought we did."
Bianca: "Well, so did I."

All right, make up your mind Bianca: do you or do you not know Lena? What did you know and when did you know it? Oh, wait, that's a Senate Committee: I forget, this show is not about witch hunts.

Lena: "We do know each other Bianca. We know what's important and there'll be plenty of time for us to find out our favorite colors and the best book we ever read..."
Bianca: "...or how you got that little scar."

Again with the hands. What are they, lesbians? I have a scar there, too. And I am hoping Bianca's favorite color has nothing to do with the color of that blouse she's wearing. Bordeaux, on the other hand, looks very nice on Lena.

Lena: "Bianca, I think we're lucky we got beyond just facts."
Bianca: "Yeah, like the way that a person can move you and you don't even know why or how."
Lena: "Exactly. I think that's just how people fall in love at first sight."
Bianca: "Yeah, even against their better judgments."

Yeah, I can relate, which is why girlfriend number three shall never be named. Ever.

Lena: "You know, I really believe in kindred spirits."

Bianca has had enough; she no longer seems to want to just believe Lena, so she moves away and leaves her with her hands out, still in grasping position. We learn that bringing food to the penthouse was Lena's idea, not Bianca's. Bianca wants to know whether Erica reminds Lena of her own mother, when she was alive.

Yes, as opposed to her mother now, still alive and in a villa in Belgium. I hope Erica doesn't remind anyone of their own mothers: no one deserves that much h***.

And as misery loves company, this is just when Michael calls Lena. After the conversation's over - do I need to mention it was in code? No? Ok, but here is a story. One time I needed a code, and I said, ok, when I say "birds on a wire," you'll know what to do. The next day, I called and asked what the code was again. And forgot after 10 minutes.

Back to star-crossed lovers. Lena sends Bianca to the car because she has forgotten the flowers they bought for Jack -and this reminds me of another story: when I was 8, dad, mom and I sat down to dinner and the phone rang. Dad picked it up; it was one of the nurses, asking about a patient of his. I only heard dad say: "tell him to stick a thermometer in his mouth and I'll get there later." When he came back to the table, I told him: "You know, you could have just said 'go to h***.' It would have been less rude." What's my point? Bianca read behind the I-forgot-the-flowers-in-the-car thing and is thinking it'd be better if Lena just came out and asked her to please leave while she breaks into the safe and steal the SuperDooperFormula.

The Penthouse's Security Station - Bianca is remembering a conversation she and Kendall had, except that I am certain some of this stuff was never said. Anyway, Bianca is spying on Lena, who is still in the penthouse.

Bianca: "Don't do it Lena. Please, if I mean anything to you, don't do it."

Yeah, that would stop me on my tracks. Feh.

At The Restaurant - Erica and Jack are chatting about Bianca and a train coming down the tracks. Would Bianca move? Erica is not sure. Jack thinks Bianca knows she is on the road to heartbreak and possibly thinks it's worth it. Good point, and true more often than not. Oh look, Kendall and Michael just walked in. Kendall walks over to Erica and Jack's table, makes a crack about Jack's heart and then asks Erica if her hallucinations made her shoot Jack.

As the accusations fly back and forth, Jack bends over in pain.

At The Penthouse's Security Station - Bianca keeps watch as Lena gets the combination to the safe and opens it. She realizes all Kendall had said is true, but still stops the security dude from calling the police. Bianca is hands-on: she'll take care of it.

Erica's Penthouse - Bianca comes back in with the flowers and pretends everything is fine. There is a long shot of the couch: I think a wild animal has died on it. Lena walks in from the kitchen after having stocked the fridge.

Bianca: "Ah, you work fast. Did I tell you how sweet I think this is of you, to think of this?"
Lena: "No, but you can thank me. Later."

Heh. Ok, no, that's not what Lena said.

Bianca: "You have a good heart. Even though I don't know you very well, I should believe that. Right?"
Lena: "Bianca, listen. I will make sure that from now on you get to know me. I mean, really know me. It's going to be my number one priority for as long as we're together."
Bianca: "As long as all that huh? Wow."
Lena: "Yes. I'll make sure that, from now on, you never doubt that everything I tell you is the truth, ok?"

Lena, I thought we covered the lawyer talk thing on Friday. I know about lawyer talk and even lawyers don't like it, so cut it out.

Lena: "Do you remember when you came to the airport and I was about to leave the country? You said you felt we were worth fighting for, you just didn't want to do it alone."
Bianca: "Yeah, well, I get emotional at airports. And goodbyes are my specialty."
Lena: "No, no, no. I know you meant it."
Bianca: "You know, you never told me why you were going to leave."
Lena: "Michael was pressuring me to spy for him and my first instinct was to pack my bags and go. Then you came and made me realize how much I was going to miss. Anyway, the question isn't why I was leaving: it's why I stayed. Bianca, I stayed for you."

Bianca's had enough and moves away. Again. Self-defense mechanisms are all 'go.' This is quite sad really: Bianca is hurting and Lena is wondering what the h*** is going on. Let me draw you a diagram, Lena.

At The Restaurant - Kendall continues with the charade and Erica acts twice. I mean, Susan Lucci does. At this point it's become clear that Erica and Kendall have an agreement and Erica is playing along. Susan Lucci wants us all to know that and delivers this line, "Oh Kendall. Every time I think we're making progress you just dash all my hopes. You live and breathe to wound me" with the same flair and conviction and gestures RuPaul would use. It's quite campy and fun to watch.

Michael, who underneath the wet poodle hairdo really does have the brain of a small bug, is very happy with Kendall's performance, which got Erica to grab a knife and point it at her while those journalists were filming everything.

At Michael's - Michael is doing push-ups. Heh, there is something inherently hilarious about this. Anyway, Lena walks in, gives him the disk and tells him to leave her and her SecretPoliceMother alone from now on. Lena has also had enough. Anyone else?

Erica's Penthouse - Kendall calls Erica; they both seem proud of that little charade at the restaurant and slap each other on the back. Figuratively, because, with their slight frames, ribs would snap on impact.

Bianca walks in, tells her mother she now knows everything she had been told about Lena is true and is looking forward to revenge.

Erica's work is truly complete now: one more progeny on Lucifer's side. I don't think Bianca really wants revenge though: it's not her kind of dish, tainted Kane Genes notwithstanding.

TOMORROW ON AMC: A lot of crap, plus Bianca wonders whether Erica has invited Lena to the penthouse to set her up; Michael does not seem to think he and Lena are over.

PARODY

This parody is by LizzieT.

Lena parts are indicated in red for those who only want a Lena fix

Erica and Jack went to the Valley Inn for breakfast.
Jack: Either I went straight from ICU to being released from the hospital in two days or the Pine Valley time warp has struck again. Are you sure I should be eating solid food?
Erica: Oh Jack, don't worry about it. The storyline focused on you for several days. Now the focus is back on me where it belongs. Look, there's that awful Jan Brady.
Jan: Are you and Jack back together Erica?
Erica: Please, we need our privacy. Have your sister Marcia call me and I'll give her an exclusive interview.
Jan: Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! It's always Marcia.

Kendall went to see Michael.
Michael: I have a brilliant idea my dear. Erica is having breakfast at the Valley Inn. You go and make her look unstable so the stockholders will put me in her place.
Kendall: Erica's not exactly the most stable person in the world at the best of times. What should I do?
Michael: Taunt her the way you did years ago, back when the show got good ratings.
Kendall: I'll do my best.

Bianca and Lena took supplies to the penthouse.
Bianca: It was so nice of you to think about buying food for Mom and Uncle Jack. Mom doesnt' actually eat but I'm sure Uncle Jack will appreciate it. I don't like the penthouse as much as I did our old house.
Lena: The one that burned down?
Bianca: Yes. Two of our houses have burned down. I set one of them on fire when I found out Mom was cheating on Dad. I don't do well with people that cheat.
Lena: You don't have to worry about that with me. Now why don't you run down to the car and get something?
Bianca: Let's see, Lena has the idea to come up here in the first place, then she finds a way to get rid of me while she stays in the penthouse. I wonder if she's up to something. I'll just watch what she's doing on the security cameras.
Guard: You can't do that.
Bianca: Back off old man. I'm Erica Kane's daughter. I can spy on my lover if I want to. Oh no! She's stealing something from the safe. Is there anyone who has worse luck in relationships than I do?
Brooke: Oh please. You want to talk hard luck in relationships - try living my life.

Kendall approached Erica at the Valley Inn.
Kendall: So Erica, did you shoot Jack the way you stabbed Dimitri?
Erica: :::hair toss:::: Go away you nasty creature.
Jack: Owwww! I think I just popped my stitches. I should still be in the hospital. I really need a better HMO.
Kendall: Erica will ruin your life Jack. Look what she did to poor Chris Stamp. One minute he's fine, the next he's running around town doing slllooowwwwlyyyyy I turned, the next he's written out.
Erica: That's enough out of you! I'll get you for that!
Jack: Erica, that's a teaspoon.
Erica: Ooops. I'll get you for that!
Jack: That's a butter knife. We'd better go home now.
Kendall: That's right. Take her home before she comes after me with a bagel slicer.

Later Kendall called Erica.
Kendall: We pulled it off. We make a great team.
Erica: Yes we do but I have to go now. Bianca just came in and she looks upset.
Kendall: Bianca Bianca Bianca. It's always Bianca.

Edmund set his plan to protect Maddie into motion.
Edmund: I want you to go with Mommy and Aidan. They'll protect you.
Maddie: Are you crazy? Didn't you watch those Bahama scenes? I'll probably end up with a bomb in a beer cooler chained to my leg.
Edmund: You'll be fine Maddie. I'm giving you this St. Christopher medal. He was the saint who protected travelers.
Maddie: Didn't he get demoted from sainthood? I really don't have a chance do I?
Edmund: Just get in this laundry basket and Aidan will take you away.
Aidan: Roito. Oi'll take yew down to the laundry for a spin in the old droier.
Edmund: No you fool. Take her to the yacht.
Maria: Don't worry Edmund. I'll take care of her just like she was my own child.
Edmund: She is your own child.
Maria: Oh that's right. I forgot. What about the other kid?
Edmund: He should be OK. The murderer doesn't know he exists.
Sam: Neither does anyone else. So the murderer is only interested in Maddie. Maddie Maddie Maddie. It's always Maddie.
Flanders: I hope I can get dis kid and get outta town soon. I'm tired of wearin dis dorky lookin hat.
Chris: I just wish I knew if I was alive or dead. I don't know whether I should start gettin better or start decomposin.

QUOTES

Banca: I set my Uncle Jack doll on fire.

Lena: I love you.

Lena: We do know each other, Bianca, I mean, we know what's important and... there'll be plenty of time for us to find out our favorite colors and... the best book we ever read...
Bianca: Or how you got that little scar.

Lena: Exactly! I think that's... just how people fall in love at first sight.

Bianca: You want me to get them? [smiles, her bulls*** meter clearly redlining]

Bianca: You know that I'm Erica Kane's daughter.

Erica: When Bianca falls for the wrong person, she blames me.
Erica: There's nothing that Bianca could have done about this -- nothing whatsoever -- because Lena is really good. I mean, Lena fooled even me at first.

Bianca: Gosh, you work fast.

Bianca: I get emotional at airports.

Lena: You've got Boyd's formula. Now leave me and my mother alone.
Michael: Ah, sure. So you can get your little seaside house with Bianca?

Kendall: Weren't we convincing? For a minute there, I thought we'd have to call the paramedics.

Kendall: What could be even bigger than you brandishing a sharp object in public?

Boyd: If you're going to take Michael down, I want in.
[amc030512a-inc starts]
Michael: So, what do you think Erica did with Boyd's formula?
Lena: I have no idea.
Michael: Well, what about her penthouse? Does she have a safe in there? I'm sure your little lover will let you in.
[amc030512a-inc ends]
Edmund: I'm not giving this guy another chance to get at my daughter. When he shows up at Wildwind, all he's going to find is me.

***** (clip b) [Bianca tells Lena about her pyromania; Lena tells Bianca she loves her]

[amc030512b starts]
[Erica's penthouse. Lingering shot looking out through the living room windows; by the light of the fake city backdrop, it looks like it's late afternoon. Many Muppets died to make the faux-fur throw draped over the back of the sofa. Pan to the door]
Bianca: [enters carrying bags and packages, followed by a similarly laden Lena. Binks is wearing a beige cardigan (the effect is somewhat dowdy even though it's very fitted; maybe it's the self-belt tied in a bow at the small of her back, or the puffiness of the gathered set-in sleeves. There's also an odd triangular inset panel of shiny fabric under the right breast that makes her look sort of like she has a Borg implant) over a white scoopneck shirt. Her long dark brown A-line skirt (some sort of fabric with a slight sheen -- velvet, or possibly a very fine-wale cord) has a slit that shows a healthy amount of leg but her mid-heel pumps are way too stodgy. Lena is in a very simple but elegant and oh-so-slightly-butch dark burgundy sleeveless top in a linen-y fabric; the color is really good on her. Of couse, this woman could make a gunny sack look good, but jewel tones are especially flattering. Can't tell much about her slacks except that they're black and they drape nicely, although with her pumps, they would need to be just a tiny bit longer to break perfectly] Okay. Just need to... shut off the alarm --
Lena: Oh, my goodness! This place belongs in a magazine.
Bianca : Yeah, it's beautiful, isn't it?
Lena: Oh, look at the view.
Bianca: Ah, but quite honestly, I liked our old place better.
Lena: Oh! Yes, I heard about that, how it got destroyed in a fire. Didn't it start in your room?
Bianca: Yeah, but I... I didn't set it, I swear.
Lena: Oh, no, of course you didn't, I --
Bianca: Oh, no, no, I was, I was kidding. [Lena laughs] When I was a little girl, I found out that my mother was betraying my father. She was... having an affair with Uncle Jack. And, um... I got very angry and I... I set my Uncle Jack doll on fire. [Okay, Binks had an Uncle Jack doll? Was this a doll that Jack had given her, or does she mean she actually had something like a Jackson Montgomery action figure, complete with briefcase, a dismal won-lost record and a ten-phrase vocabulary that it wheezed out with dramatically inappropriate pauses when you pushed a button? No, really, I want to know] It burned down the house. Nothing's ever been the same since.
Lena: You're... you're making me feel guilty because of what happened last night when you got back.
Bianca: Oh, you mean when I saw Michael leaving your room?
Lena: Bianca, I thought I explained.
Bianca: Yes, that he wanted you to spy for him at Enchantment, and that you said no.
Lena: You sound like... you don't believe me.
Bianca: What, that you sent him away unsatisfied?
Lena: No. That I love you.

***** (clip c) [Lena tricks Bianca out of the penthouse]

[amc030512c starts]
Bianca: I have a habit of... falling for women who seem to care about me but --
Lena: [reaches for Binks' elbow and turns her around] Bianca, I do care about you!
Bianca: And I care about you. But, I mean, honestly, Lena... we don't really know that much about one another.
Lena: How can you say that? Yesterday, we got, we got so close -- I mean, I thought we did.
Bianca: Well, so did I.
Lena: We do know each other, Bianca, I mean, we know what's important and... there'll be plenty of time for us to find out our favorite colors and... the best book we ever read...
Bianca: Or how you got that little scar. [strokes Lena's left hand as she examines one of the fingers]
Lena: Bianca, I think we're lucky that we've got beyond just facts.
Bianca: Yeah. Like the way that... a person can move you and you don't even know why or how.
Lena: Exactly! I think that's... just how people fall in love at first sight.
Bianca: Yeah. Even against their better judgment.
Lena: You know, I really believe in kindred spirits.
Bianca: You know, we should, um... we should really get to work.
Lena: Oh, all we have to do is put this in the fridge.
[Lena pokes through contents of the bags she had been carrying. One of them contains paper plates, which is a very strange thing to include when bringing food to someone's house. Unless Carl had the day off and Binks thought it might be too much to expect Erica to do dishes as well as open all those packages]
Bianca: You know, it was really so sweet of you to think of this, about having everything all set up for Mom and Uncle Jack when they come home.
Lena: Well, your mother means a lot to me.
Bianca: Does she remind you of your mother, when she was alive?
[The HPF briefly flashes her patented "Oh, s***" expression]
Lena: Well, you know, Erica made me feel very much at home at Enchantment.
Bianca: Well, I will be sure to tell her when she gets home [Binks puts down her purse prominently on the sofa with the dead-Muppet throw] just who is responsible for all these goodies. [Lena's cell phone rings] Oh, um, go ahead and answer that.
Lena: Hello?
Michael: Where are you?
Lena: Yes --
Michael: Are you at Erica's? Did you get it?
Lena: I'm working on that right now. I can probably overnight it to you.
Michael: Just remember your mother's future depends on you. I wonder how long she'll last when she's been convicted of spying for the communists.
Lena: Yes, I have that in my active file. There's no need to bring it up right now.
Michael: Results, Lena.
Lena: You'll have what you want.
[Lena hangs up]
Bianca: Everything okay? Lena [putting phone away]: Oh, yes, just some dreary accountant, with them it's life or death.
Bianca: Oh, wow, you poor thing.
Lena: It's okay. [grabs two of the bags] Where's the kitchen?
Bianca: Oh, this way.
Lena: Um, what happened to, ah... the flowers we got, for your uncle?
Bianca: Oh! Are they... are they still in the car?
Lena: Oh, would you mind getting them? I think they're probably in the back seat, or maybe they fell on the floor. [laughs uncomfortably]
Bianca: You want me to get them? [smiles, her bulls*** meter clearly redlining]
Lena: If you don't mind. [shrugs her shoulders, indicating the bags in her hands]
Bianca: Absolutely.
Lena: Okay. Uh, the key's in my bag.
Bianca: Okay. [puts cake box down on chair and gets keys out of Lena's purse. Goes to the door and calls out] I'll... I'll be right back.
[Bianca leaves. A couple of seconds after the door closes, Lena walks into frame, looking around; she takes a few deep breaths, rubs her hands down her pants, then walks off]

***** (clip d) [Bianca watches Lena burgle the penhouse on the security camera]

[amc030512d starts]
[Pan to a middle shot of Binks looking pensive. Camera circles slowly around her as she mentally replays Kendall's words]
Kendall Voiceover: Bianca, your girlfriend is sleeping with my boyfriend. The only reason Lena's with you is because Michael told her to seduce you. What was she doing sneaking into Michael's condo in the middle of the night? I saw her with my own eyes. Has Lena ever acted weird? Has she ever tried to gain access where she doesn't belong?
[Binks looks to her right; camera tracks to a video surveillance setup]
Random Security Guy Extra: [walks in and stands, arms akimbo, behind Binks, who's now seated at the monitors] I could get fired for this. The hidden cameras in the penthouse are to be used only in the event of an emergency. [Okay, hold it right there. First of all: cameras downstairs in the workplace are one thing; cameras *in your home* are just... ick. And what, the spamcops are supposed to intuit when trouble's going to arise and then leap to turn the cameras on? And why are there only two cameras in a place this size, anyway? Soap opera logic, right]
Bianca: [not looking at RSGE] You know that I'm Erica Kane's daughter.
RSGE: I know that, but she didn't say anything about anybody coming in --
Bianca: [shushing motions] Just be quiet, be quiet!
[RSGE huffs off. Binks stares intently at the monitors and gasps as Lena skulks into view on the left-hand one (which is focused on the living room). Camera shows Lena bending over Binks' purse on the sofa. Cut to "live" shot of Lena rummaging through the purse and pulling out a PDA, clasping it in her hands for a moment and looking conflicted. Cut back to the monitor; Binks looks on with dismay and disappointment. Pleads to image]
Bianca: Don't do it. Lena, please, if I mean anything to you, don't do it!

***** (clip e) [Erica and Jack discuss Bianca's love life and Lena (no Lena)]

[amc030512e starts]
Jack: So, Erica, why don't you just give Bianca a call?
Erica: Because she'd hang up on me. Oh, Jack, her response is always the same. When Bianca falls for the wrong person, she blames me.
Jack: Well, maybe you should just let her get over it.
Erica: Well, Jack, I'm not mad at Bianca. I mean, that's not the point. Look, if Bianca were standing on the railroad tracks and a train were bearing down on her --
Jack: She would hear it and she would get off of those tracks.
Erica: Well, maybe. But I wouldn't just assume that. I would warn her.
Jack: Of course you would. But Bianca is an adult, and adults make mistakes, especially when it comes to affairs of the heart.
Erica: Well, there's nothing that Bianca could have done about this -- nothing whatsoever -- because Lena is really good. I mean, Lena fooled even me at first.
Jack: You're positive that you're right about this and Bianca's wrong?
Erica: About Lena?
Jack: Yes.
Erica: Lena is heartless, she is without conscience, and she is exploiting Bianca.
Jack: Well, you warned Bianca and Kendall has warned Bianca, so maybe you should just leave it alone.
Erica: What do you mean?
Jack: Maybe Bianca realizes that she's on the road to heartbreak. Maybe she thinks it's worth it.

***** (clip f) [Bianca keeps the security guard from calling the police]

[amc030912f starts]
[Binks fights tears as she continues to watch LenaTV. Techno Up-To-No-Good music plays in the background. Cut to Lena fiddling with the PDA. Cut to Binks looking on in horror. Back to the monitor, where Lena appears to dither for a moment before heading offscreen to stage left. Naturally the other camera is placed exactly where Soap Opera Narrative dictates, showing Lena looking around in a hallway, then examining something on a wall. Cut to closeup of Crying!Binks. Cut to monitor -- Lena finds the edge of a large panel that obligingly swings out of the way. Cut back to Binks]
Bianca: [shakes her head, crying] Everything that Kendall said was... everything Kendall said was true.
[Cut to monitor -- Lena's found the safe. Binks voiceovers, very softly, under her breath]
Bianca: Oh, Lena.
[Cut to "live" Lena at the safe, looking around Very Guiltily. She opens the safe, looks over her shoulder one more time, then peers in. Cut to Binks, crying, holding her hand to her face. Cut to monitor image of Lena still poking around in the safe. Cut to Binks sniffling, her hand now at her mouth.]
RSGE: [approaching behind Binks and peering at the monitor] Are you all right?
Bianca [squeaks]: Just... turn it off. Turn it off, okay, I've seen enough!
[Bianca stands and turns away. RSGE reaches for a phone on top of the monitor and dials 911. Binks turns back around]
Bianca: Wait a minute, what are you doing?
RSGE: I'm calling the cops.
Bianca: No! Don't do that, hang up.
RSGE: But the woman in there just stole the combination to Ms. Kane's safe and she's ransacking --
Bianca: I know what she did, okay, I saw it with my own eyes.
RSGE: What should I do? Anything?
Bianca: No. I'll take care of this.

***** (clip g) [Bianca has difficulty pretending nothing is wrong with Lena]

[amc030912g starts]
[Binks enters the penthouse carrying a very nice bunch of flowers (corporate spies have excellent taste) and still looking totally discombobulated]
Lena: [offscreen] Whew! [Binks turns, startled, quickly bringing up the flowers in front of her in a defensive posture] Erica's fridge is now fully stocked.
Bianca: Oh. [Lena comes up to Binks and takes the flowers from her] Gosh, you work fast. [Lena sniffs the flowers appreciatively and sets them in a vase on the coffee table] Did I tell you how sweet I think this is of you to think of this?
[Binks moves around the sofa to face Lena]
Lena: [playfully] Yes.
[Binks hands Lena her keys, which she puts back in her purse]
Bianca [flatly]: You have a good heart. Even though I don't know you very well I should believe that. Right?
Lena: [happily oblivious] Bianca. Listen, I will make sure that from now on you get to know me -- I mean, really know me. It's going to be my number one priority for as long as we're together.
Bianca: As long as all that.
Lena: Yes!
Bianca: Wow.
Lena: Listen, [takes Binks' hands in her own] I will make sure that from now on, you never doubt that.. everything that I tell you is the truth. Okay? [Binks drops her eyes and doesn't respond] Do you remember when you came to the airport when I was about to leave the country? You told me that you thought we were worth fighting for, you just didn't want to do it alone.
Bianca: [looks pole-axed for a few seconds] Yeah, well... I get emotional at airports. And goodbyes are my, ah, specialty.
Lena: No, no, no, I... I know you meant it.
Bianca: You know, you never told me why you were gonna leave.
Lena: Oh. Michael was pressuring me to spy for him and, and my first instinct was to pack my bags and go, but... then you came and you made me realize how much I was going to miss and... anyway, the question isn't why I was leaving, but why I stayed. Bianca, I stayed for you.
[Lena gazes lovingly at Binks and takes a step toward her, but Binks skittles backward, walking around behind the sofa]
Bianca: Um, you know what? We should, ah, we should really get going because my Uncle Jack and my mom [picks up purse] are gonna be back really soon and they're definitely gonna want their privacy. [Lena, stunned at what she thinks is a sudden change of mood, takes a moment before she turns around to look at Binks who's standing by the door] You ready? [too brightly]
Lena: [looks like a puppy who's been spanked but isn't sure why] Yes.
[Lena picks up her purse and follows Binks out the door, closing it behind her]

***** (clip h) [Lena tells Michael to leave her alone]

[amc030912h starts]
[Door opens]
Lena: Here. Now you can stop what you're doing to me.
Michael: The billion-dollar disk? You got it for me?
Lena: Yes. You've got Boyd's formula. Now leave me and my mother alone.
Michael: Ah, sure. So you can get your little seaside house with Bianca?
Lena: I mean it, Michael. Enough.

***** (clip i) [Bianca tells her mother she wants Lena and Michael to hurt bad]

Erica: So, how do you feel now?
Jack: I still feel fine. I always felt fine.
[Phone rings]
Erica: Hello?
Kendall: It's me.
Erica: Kendall.
Kendall: Weren't we convincing? For a minute there, I thought we'd have to call the paramedics.
Erica: Did Michael buy it?
Kendall: Completely. He totally bought it. What about June Landau's media coverage?
Erica: Oh, well, I can always keep that going with a promise of an even bigger exclusive.
Kendall: Well, what could be even bigger than you brandishing a sharp object in public?
Erica: The fall of the Cambias empire after his failed takeover attempt of Enchantment.
Kendall: Ok, I can't talk here. I have to go over to Fusion. So, what's our next move?
Erica: I'm planning that now. I'll be in touch. [amc030912i-inc starts] Bianca.
Bianca: You were right.
Erica: Honey --
Bianca: God, mom, I hope you're happy, because everything that you said about Lena is true.
Erica: Of course I'm not happy. Honey, she has hurt you, and I hate her for that. But believe me, she is going to pay -- both she and Michael Cambias.
Bianca: Good. Because that's all I want.
Erica: Well, don't you worry, baby. Don't you worry. They are going to be so sorry that they ever messed with us.

***** (clip j) [On the next AMC: Bianca asks Erica if she invited Lena over and Lena tries to dump Michael]

On the next "All My Children"
Greenlee: Just when I thought you couldn't be played for a fool again, you find another way to make it happen.
[amc030512j-inc2 starts]
Bianca: You didn't invite Lena over here to ambush her, did you?
[amc030512j-inc2 ends]
[amc030512j-inc3 starts]
Lena: You and I are over.
Michael: I wouldn't be so sure about that.
[amc030512j-inc3 ends]
Maddie: Mom!
Maria: Maddie.

E-mail me with your AIM user name (ktaborn@lightspeed.net) and I will give you access to the shared folder. When you have access, you can right click my user name on your buddy list and then click on get file. That should get you into the shared folder. If you have problems, then tweak your firewall. The downloads are slow because it has to go through the AIM filter AND often there are a lot of people downloading along with you. I apologize for the slow speed but this is the only way that I can distribute the clips at this time.

I am eliciting volunteers to host the clips throughout the web. If you have 5-25megs of space you can lend to this project, please let me know!
