Michael [Mic]: "Xena is finally coming home to Amphipolis. She
has no idea what awaits her."
Raphael [Rap]: "I'm more concerned about what awaits _us_ if she
should fail in her destiny. If the realm of Hell should spill
onto the Earth-- we will be the ones to face it."
Mic: "Xena has killed most of the Olympian gods. She is the
only mortal prepared to face this."
Rap: "I hope she is prepared-- for all of our sakes."

X [Hums]: "Eve, you were just a baby when your grandmother took
you in her arms and sang the anthem of Amphipolis."
G: "She stood up against Athena. She was very courageous."
Eve: "I can't wait to see her."
X: "Me neither. You're gonna love Amphipolis. It's-- so full
of life. What happened here?"
G: "It almost feels deserted."
X: "My mother would never leave this place."

Eve: "Mother grew up here?"
G: "It's never looked like this."
Eve [I think]: "There's a coldness in this place. It's
freezing."
X: "I'm going upstairs."
G: "I'll check the back."
Vision [Vis] of Cyrene [Cyr]: "[Screams]"
X: "Mom."

Mephistopheles [Mep]'s Voice: "Livia."
Eve: "Who's there?"
Vis of Villager: "Light the fire!"
Vis of Cyr: [Moans]
X: "Eve? Are you all right?"
Eve: "Grandmother?"
X: "Did you see her, Eve? Eve!"
Eve: "I felt her. I could feel her spirit. She's dead,
Mother."

[ACT I]
G: "Eve-- you've never seen Cyrene, before. How do you know
it's her?"
Eve: "I could feel her. I could feel her spirit. I _know_ it
was her!"
X: "I believe you, Eve. I saw her, too."
Eve: "She's in so much pain. She wanted to be at peace, but she
was helpless. She's trapped in this house."
X's Voice: "Mother."
Eve: "She's not alone. There are other souls here. This
house, it's-- it's a gateway or a spiritual crossroads or-- "
X: "It's haunted."
Eve: "There's a stillness. It's like before a battle. It's as
if I can feel the realms of Heaven and Hell taking up sides."
X: "If my mother's not at peace I'm going to find out why."
G: Xena, where are you going?"
X: "The mausoleum."
G: "Do you want us to come with you?"
X: "Thanks, but I feel I need to do this alone."

X [Whispers]: "Mother. Oh! What did they do to you? They've
taken everything. Now you can't rest. And where was I? Oh,
Mother. I will find you. Wherever you are, I will find you.

Eve: "Cyrene must have been a remarkable woman."
G: "She was."
Eve: "Her spirit was so frightened."
G: "It's OK."
Eve: "Gabrielle? Did you already eat any of this? Uh!"
Eve: "In the name of Eli-- . In the name of Eli-- and all the
powers of Heaven-- I command this evil presence to be cast out."
G [Whispers]: "No. No."
Eve: "In the _name_ of Eli! And all the _powers_ of Heaven! I
command this evil presence to be cast out!"

X: "Mother I don't know what happened to you-- but I swear I
will find out. I'll put you at peace."
Beggar [Beg] [Startles]: "P-please! I-- I didn't mean to spy.
I come in here when there's a storm."
X: "What happened to my mother?"
Beg: "You're-- Xena. Cyrene waited _years_ for you to come
home. Mephistopheles-- sent-- evil spirits to Cyrene's tavern--
a long time ago. Over the years she-- she went mad."
X: "Why are her bones charred black?"
Beg: "When the crops failed-- people blamed the evil in the
tavern. They said Cyrene was a witch-- for Mephistopheles!"
X: "They burned her at the stake."
Beg: "I tried to tell them she wasn't a witch, but-- but, uh--
who was gonna listen to me? Cyrene was a good person. She was
kind to me-- even near the end. Those evil spirits-- they were
never in her. They were in the house-- and they're in there
still."

G [Screams]: "Xena!"

X: "Eve! Gabrielle!"

G: [Screams]

Eve: "Mother-- are you all right?"
X: "Yeah. Where's Gabrielle?"
Eve: "I don't know."

X: "Gabrielle?"
G's Voice: "Xena!"

[ACT II]
Mep: "This one is _not_ the messenger! You will live _all_ the
horrors of Hell until the blood of the messenger is spilled!"

Eve: "Maybe she went upstairs."
X: "No, she's here someplace."
G's Voice: "Xena!"
X: [Yells]
G: "Xena! Let me out! Get me out! Please!"
X: "You all right? You all right?"
G: "Yah!"
X: "What?"
G: "It burns! It burns!"
X: "All right!"

G: "What's _causing_ this?"
X: "Mephistopheles."
Eve's Voice: "Thinking of Hell is doing this?"
X: "He cursed this house long ago. For years my mothe fought
the evil spirits here. It drove her mad. The townspeople
thought she was a witch for Mephistopheles. They burned her at
the stake."
Eve: "Oh, Mother-- that's why she's not at peace. If she died
unabsolved, Mephistopheles would have possession of her soul."
G: "Xena, why would he attack your family? He has an entire
world he can rule."
X: "He's preparing for war."
Eve: "It's no accident I'm in this house."
X: "Eve."
G: "Those things they said-- they said that they seek the blood
of the messenger. This is Eve's battle."
X: "No, if he picks a battle, he's picked it with me. I won't
lose my daughter the way I lost my mother."

X: "Lyceus-- my brother."
Vis of Cyr: "Lyceus."
Vis of X: "I did all I could."
Vis of Cyr: "Oh-- yes-- you did all you could. You raised the
army. You talked him into fighting. These-- these may as well
be wounds from-- your sword! He was the only thing I had left--
and-- you took him from me. Lyceus." [Weeps]
X: "Mother, I'm just so sorry-- about everything."

Eve: "Uh."
Eve: "In the name of Eli-- and all the powers of Heaven, I
command this evil presence to be cast out. In the name of Eli--
and all the powers of Heaven, I command this evil presence to be
cast out." [Screams]
Eve: "In the name of Eli-- and all the powers of Heaven-- I
command this evil presence to be cast out."
X: "Gabrielle?"
Mep-in-G: [Laughs] [Yells]
Eve: "In the name of Eli-- and all the powers of Heaven, I
_command_ this evil presence to be cast out!"
X: "Gabrielle?"
Mep-in-G: "She's with me, Xena."
Eve: "Mother! Gabrielle!"
X: "Mephistopheles, _why_ are you doing this to my family?!"
Mep-in-G: "I seek the messenger of Eli-- your daughter."
[Laughs]
X: "What do you want with her?!"
Eve: "He knows I can do this: `In the name of Eli-- and all the
_powers_ of Heaven, I command this evil presence to be cast
out!'"
X: "Why have you come here?!"
Mep-in-G: "You killed the Olympian gods, Xena. The time has
come for my reign to begin. I shall inherit the Earth. When
your blood is spilled, Eve-- I'll be made flesh."
X: "It will never happen Mephistopheles-- never!"
Mep-in-G: "Your mother cried out for you, Xena-- even at the
end."
Vis of Cyr: "I beg you-- no! I'm innocent. I swear to you!"
Vis of Vil's Voices: "You'll pay for what you' ve done!" "Burn
her! Burn the witch!"
Vis of Cyr: "Xena-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a!"
Mep-in-G: "I helped eat her soul, Xena! She'll spend eternity--
reliving only agony you put into her life! Unless-- you spill
your daughter's blood-- and bring me into the world."
Eve: "No."
Mep-in-G: [Laughs]

[ACT III]
Eve: "In the name of Eli-- and all the powers of Heaven! I
command this evil presence to be cast out!"
Mep-in-G: "Damn you! I leave this body, Xena-- but I'll keep
your mother's soul! Do you want your mommy? Release me into the
world."
X: "Again, Eve. Do it again, now!"
Eve: "In the name of Eli-- and all the powers of Heaven! I
command this evil presence to be cast-- out!"
G: "Uh! Uh!"
X: "Gabrielle."
G [Whispers]: "Xena."
X: "You're dizzy. Oh, Gabrielle. Help me untie her. OK. Oh,
Gabrielle-- oh-- glad to have you back. Gabrielle,
Mephistopheles has my mother. I've gotta find a way to release
her soul-- but cleansed or not, I want you out of here."
G: "Where do you want me to go?"
X: "Mephistopheles is _using_ you."
G: "I'm not leaving."
Eve: "He can't take her again. She's been cleansed."
G: "He's afraid of you."

X: "Mephistopheles controls every _inch_ of this house."
G: "Xena, you're going to need me."
X: "Listen to me. Pull!"

X: "We gotta get to Eve!"

Eve: "In the name of Eli and all the powers of Heaven I command
this evil presence to be cast out!"
X [Interrupts]: "Eve! Eve!"
Eve: "In the _name_ of Eli-- and all the powers of Heaven I

and all the powers of Heaven, I command this evil presence to be
cast out!" [Moans]
G: "Look at her. Xena, how can she fight this battle? Xena--"
Eve: "In the name of Eli-- and all the powers of Heaven-- "
Mep's Voice [Interrupts]: "She's dying, Xena. The battle you
have her fighting-- "
Eve's Voice [In Background]: "In the name of Eli-- "
Mep's Voice [Interrupts]: "-- is one she cannot win."
Eve's Voice [In Background]: "-- and all the powers of Heaven, I
command you-- "
Mep's Voice [Interrupts]: "It will cost her her life. And I
will be the victor. Her soul will belong to me."
X: "Mephistopheles!"
Mep's Voice: "It's not your daughter's life that I seek-- only
her blood. Just a few drops of blood-- spilt in my name-- will
bring me into your world. Fight me there-- or your daughter will
join your mother in eternal torture."
Eve: "-- to be cast out."
X: "Gabrielle-- I have to go fight Mephistopheles."
G: "Xena, you can't release him."
X: "No, I'm gonna take the fight _to_ him."
G: "Th- that's the spiritual realm."
X: "I'm gonna put the pinch on myself."
G: "No."
X: "Yes."
G: "No!"
X: "I should be dead just long enough to meet Mephistopheles
there. Then I need you to release the pinch and bring me back."
G: "Xena, I can't. I don't-I don't know how."
X: "Yes, you can. I'll show you. Here."
G: "Right there?"
X: "No-- that will stop my heart. There."
G: "I can't believe you're showing me this now."
X: "We don't have any choice."
G: "Xena, if I can't do this, that means that you're down there
forever."
X: "You can do it-- I believe in you. Bring me back,
Gabrielle."
G [Whispers]: "OK."

Cyr: [Moans]
X: "Mother."
Cyr [Moans]: "Gods, forgive me! I've killed him!"
X: "Mother, it's me."
Cyr: "My Orestes! I had no choice! I had no choice! My

X: "Mother, I will find a way to release you. I promise."
Mep: "Don't make promises you can't keep."
[Fight]
Mep: "I thought you were the _god-killer_, Xena. How were the
mighty Olympians so easily taken?!"
X: "I'm just a little distracted by your good looks."

G: "I don't know what I'm doing."
Eve: "I'll try and find water. Maybe it'll help wake her up."
G: "Yeah."

[Fight]
Mep [Laughs]: "You cannot hurt me in the spirit world-- Xena."
X: "No harm in trying."
Mep: "Your power to kill gods-- is on Earth." [Laughs]

G: "I'm right here, Xena."

-------------------------------
Mep [Laughs]: "Now you see _you_ can't harm me here." [Laughs]
X: "If you come into my realm, I will kill you before you take a
step."
Mep: "And then take my throne?"
X: "What are you talking about?"
Mep: "Whoever kills me-- must take my place and reign over Hell.
[Laughs] And frankly, Xena-- I don't think you're up to the job.
[Laughs]

X: "Release my mother."
Mep: "You know my price."
X: "I won't do it."
Mep: "Very well. If you won't spill Eve's blood-- then
perhaps-- the right pressure in the right place might cause Eve
to spill her own." [Laughs]
Mep's Voice: "Your daughter will be mine, Xena."

Vis of Severed [Sev] Head: "Do you mind? I was getting a drink.
You don't remember me, do you? On the road outside Rome? You
beheaded me from horseback. You hardly gave it a thought."
Eve: "I didn't-- that wasn't me."
Vis of Sev Head: "Oh, I think I'd remember. You came galloping
by, and-- sh-h-h-h-- just for kicks. `All roads lead to Rome'
my eye."
Vis of Axe Victim [Vic]: "Hey-- you threw this at me from 20
yards. I was tryin' to save my wife, Livia."
Eve: "I'm not Livia."
Vis of Axe Vic: "We died unabsolved! We can never be at peace."
Vis's of People: "It's Livia." "Livia. Livia. Livia. Livia.
Livia."

G: "Xena. Hey. Uh! Uh!"

Eve: "I'm not Livia."
Vis of Axe Vic: "You don't believe us? Look!"
Eve: "It's not me."
Vis of Livia [Liv]: "Oh, it most certainly is. We're the same--
the same cunning mind-- the same dark soul-- the same love of
power. Yah! You see how they cringe in fear of us? We didn't
just kill them-- we trapped them forever in limbo."
Eve: "I can't undo that. If I could help them, I would."
Vis of Liv: "Prove it! Spill your blood. Bring forth
Mephistopheles and they will be released from torment. You can
do it."
Eve: "No-- that can't be the way. I'm not you. I'm not Livia!"
Vis of Liv: "Really. Then why do you get a tingle when I do
this?"

Eve: "Stop! Stop! [Moans] Yah!"

G: "Xena! Come on!"

Eve: "No!" [Screams]

G: "Yah! Xena."
X: "Eve. Where's Eve?"

X: "Eve! Eve-- come here."
Eve: "I'm going to stop Mephistopheles."
X: "No-- I won't let you stop him that way. He's already got my
mother's soul. He's not gettin' yours."
Eve: "Then how can we stop him?"
X: "By giving him exactly what he wants. Trust me."
G: "Xena."

[ACT IV]
X: "Wait."
G: "Xena. Xena-- you cannot spill your daughter's blood."
X: "It's better than the beating she was taking in there."
G: "You will bring Hell onto Earth. After all the evil we've
seen, you want to unleash that onto the world?"
X: "My mother's soul is trapped. My daughter is half dead. And
the portal to Hell opened up in my backyard! I am going to face
Mephistopheles, Gabrielle. It is the only way."
G: "You cannot kill every demon from Hell!"
X: "I only need to kill one. And he will never expect me to-- "
G: "To what? To what?!"
X: "To take his place. Mephistopheles said whoever kills the
king of Hell must inherit the throne."
G [Whispers]: "Xena."
X: "I will cross that bridge when I come to it. But I am not
going to let Mephistopheles torment my family any longer. Doo
you hear me?"
G: "Eve. Eve, your destiny is to stop this evil, not bring it
into the world."
X: "We make our own destiny in this family. Eve-- the choice is
yours."
Eve: "Yes. Destiny comes to pass in strange ways. I'll fulfill
mine. I'll deliver Mephistopheles into the only hands capable of
beating him. Will you help me?"

Voices: [Scream]
Eve: "In the name of Eli-- let my sinful blood be absolved by
your goodness. Let it bring about a victorious end to our battle
with your enemy."
X: "Let's see what you got up here, you swine."
Eve: "Hear our plea! Bring forth Mephistopheles! The master of
lies! The king of Hell! So that we may, with your strength--
fight him! So that we may end his reign for all eternity! In
Mephistopheles' name! Ah-h-h-h-h!"
X: "You two, get out of here! This is _my_ fight now. Show
yorself, Mephistopheles!"
Mep [Laughs]: "I am at _last_ made fle-e-e-e-e-e-e-esh!"
[Laughs]
X: "Enjoy it while it lasts."
[Fight]
Mep: "You're hold back, Xena. Is something bothering you?"
X: "Other than your stench?"
[Fight]
Mep: "Isn't this what you wanted? To face me on Earth-- and
make me pay for all I've done to you?! Does the thought-- of
taking my place on the throne of Hell-- suddenly not appeal to
you?"
X: "You're lying about that."
Mep: "Are you willing to risk it? Last chance, Xena-- to get
your revenge! [Laughs] If you'll take my place. No? That's
exactly what I was counting on." [Laughs] [Screams]
X: "So be it."
Mep: [Screams]
G: "Xena--"
X: "What?"
G: "Look."
Cyr: "You have your mother's eyes. You're tall like her, too.
You're gorgeious. I love my granddaughter, Xena."
X: "She couldn't wait to meet you."
Cyr: "Gabrielle."
G: "We missed you."
Cyr: "After all these years, I-- I wondered if I'd ever see you
again, but I never gave up hope, Xena."
X: "Neither did I. I finally find you, and you're gone."
Cyr: "I'll never really be gone, Xena-- not as long as you keep
me alive in your heart." [Disappears]
X: "Mom, I-- "

Eve: "Gabrielle, what's wrong?"
G: "The legend. Xena, you killed the king of Hell. What
happens now?"
X: "I don't know. I've got a feeling it's not over yet."
