It's Three Men and a Baby, only, in this story, the men are teen cadets (Hercules, lolaus, and Jason) and the baby is a basilisk named Ruff (a turtle-esque animal who spits goo that turns to fire). Under the delighted watchful eyes of instigators, Strife and Discord, our heroes chase Ruff throughout the town trying to catch him and save Corinth from incineration.
This synopsis is by Deb Roche
Jason and the guys are in Corith. Jason is "hearing court". Jason is bored and wasn't to play with the guys. One last person requests an audience with the prince. Jason agrees.
The two people introduce themself as a Babylonian traveller and a Sybill. The traveller offers Jason a "rock", saying that it is a magic rock and any rule who owns it will have a successful rule. Jason accepts the rock and they leave.
Outside, they revel themselves as who they are. Discord and Strife.
Inside, Iolaus plays with the rock and it transforms itself into a creature.
Iolaus 'adopts' the creature, which according to Strife & Discord is really a Basilisk, and calls it Ruff.
The guys discover Ruff has a habit of 'spraying' people with a green gluey like substance.
According to Discord, that substance is it's venom. And, the venom causes what ever it comes into contact with to burst into flames. But since Ruff is just a baby the effect is not instanteous yet.
All of a sudden fires start breaking out. Hercules realises that every site of a fire was a site that Ruff 'sprayed'. Herc remembers a legend he heard about Basilisks, and realizes that Ruff is a Basilisk.
As the show progresses Ruff's venom gets results faster. While trying to catch Ruff, Herc discovers Discord and Strife.
In the end the guys take Ruff to a place where legend has it Basilisks live. There is an almost tearful goodbye as Iolaus lets Ruff go. Iolaus is worried that Ruff will be all alone. Herc is about to say something when a cry is heard. Herc assures Iolaus that it is for the best.
Ruff sets of to find his people, and the guys return to Corith.
